A long journey to the picturesque surroundings of Bushy Park ended in style for Oakwood, who produced a commanding 5–1 win over Teddington after a shaky start.

It was far from the perfect opening, as the hosts took the lead inside 90 seconds — a gusty wind playing a big part in the early setback. But the goal proved to be the wake-up call Oakwood needed.

Midfielders Leo Newton and Harry Morley began to dictate play, with Coco Matthews pulling the strings and helping Oakwood settle into their rhythm. At the back, the trio of Charlie, Daniel, and Niko coped admirably with the pace and energy of Teddington’s lively front three.

Oakwood’s equaliser came through a moment of brilliance from Leo Newton, who rifled a rocket from the edge of the box to make it 1–1. Moments later, Harry Morley latched onto a clever flick from Hamza before racing clear and slotting home to complete the turnaround.

Momentum was firmly with Oakwood, and after an excellent lay-off from Lukas, Newton struck again — his second of the game — to extend the lead to 3–1.

Teddington were handed a lifeline with what could only be described as a very soft penalty, but goalkeeper Harry Thompson pulled off a superb save. Daniel Ritchie reacted quickest to the rebound, clearing the danger — and the ball — into the surrounding trees to preserve the two-goal cushion.

Moments later, after a clear penalty shout for Oakwood was waved away, Lukas responded in stunning fashion, smashing in a 35-yard thunderbolt to make it 4–1.

The scoring was rounded off by the returning Leyla Tek, who raced onto a perfectly weighted Riley Hall through ball before firing an unstoppable strike into the top corner.

A complete team performance, clinical finishing, and strong defensive work saw Oakwood claim a well-deserved 5–1 victory.

Next up, Oakwood return to Bushy Park once again — their third meeting with Teddington this season — looking to build on another impressive display.
