Oaks pay the biggest penalty

On a fine Sunday morning Oakwood again set off for a trip down to the coast to play in a cup game v Seagulls. On a nice big pitch (with very poor goals and area) both teams looked to get the ball down and play a bit of football. It was a very tough game with tackles going in and sadly the referee missed 2 kicks on Oakwood players. He did see a punch to the face on Oak's skipper Daniel Ritchie but the ref thought that he was unable to send the play off. Seagulls went in front with a well taken gaol against the run of play. Daniel and Adam were strong at the back, Kye had very little to do but when he was called upon you just knew it wasn't going in. Zayne, Mason, Naymeer and Harry were providing to be a real handful and Roman and Niko were always a threat going forward. Roman grabbed goal to make it 1-1 and with 5 minutes to go, Mason scored a goal which everyone else seemed to see, all apart from the ref who was on the halfway line. After a conference with the manager where he offered 2 options, a goal which should have been the only option seems to not be on the table. Oakwood pushed for a well deserved winner, changing our passing game to long ball but we just couldn't find that extra goal. NO extra time was played so the game went to penalties where we lost 4-3. It was such a shame for the lads but lessons will be learnt by all. 19th we play our first home game v Smallfield at 10am.
