The excitement around the first game of the season, a warm Sunday morning. A new team built over the summer. Playing away, on grass not in a cage in Crawley. It is what it is all about. We travelled down to beautiful Peacehaven for a 10am kick off against a team who we played in the Lewes tournament and drew 0-0. We had league debuts for our new goalkeeper Kye, defensive rock Liam, creative midfielders Nameer, Zayne and Mason who joined Daniel, Adam, Niko, Harry and Roman from last seasons team. On a bigger pitch we seems to find our passing rhythm quickly, playing football out of the back, moving the ball quickly. Some of the attacks we put together were breath-taking. The thing that pleased Kirk (the manager) most was the hard work and work rate when we didn't have the ball. Everyone knew their jobs, what to do and where to be. Credit to Peacehaven, they kept pushing us all the way to the end, with Kye pulling of 4 really good saves. The pleasing thing was that from a new team we were playing some really good football and it was a real pleasure to see the hard work on the training pitch being brought over into the game. Roll on next week for our first cup game.
