Ladies battle for tough away win at Bexhill

Matchday 2, The Oaks keep the pressure on Mole Valley at the top.

Oakwood ladies continued their impressive start to the 2019/20 season with a hard-fought victory at Bexhill. Bexhill who is now made up of both last seasons front side and reserves put up a physical challenge from the start.

Oakwood settled and took control of the play from 20 minutes in and 5 minutes from the break, left-back Emily Kendall slotted home to give the Oaks the lead. It took debutant Alana Delany just 3 minutes into the second half when she broke Bexhill defensive line going one on one with their keeper, the 16-year-old calmly slotted the ball in the left corner of the Bexhill goal.

The resilient home side kept probing the Oakwood backline in spells, and late on were awarded a goal on the 80th minute.

The ladies side now switch their attention to the FA Cup where this Sunday they will make club history traveling to Clapton Community in the next round of the cup competition.
