The road trip continued but this time the Oakwood Ladies squad and a band of loyal supporters left Tinsley lane on Sunday morning for the tasty FA Cup tie in East London.

With both teams already enjoying good wins and attendances in the previous round, this matchup didn't disappoint. With the road closures and the horrible wet weather, a large crowd of 261 still turned out to support the Local London side at the Stray Dog.

An early goal from the home side on 6th minute saw Oakwood switch into gear with an almost instant equaliser from Lauren Tyler. Twelve minutes in and Oakwood now in full flight broke from the midfield with a well-taken goal from Janine Daly.

The home side who were cheered on by amazing support that saw singing and banging of drums pushed the Oaks hard around the 20-minute mark and were rewarded for their pressure with an equaliser.

The strong team spirit of Oakwood pushed on for a response and just before half time Jemma Lindfield scored to add to her tally and hat-trick scored in the previous round.

After the break, the home side pushed for the equaliser, but the experienced Oakwood side managed the play and worked hard as a unit to see the game out inside a loud 'Stray Dog' stadium.

Already 3 stages further in the competition than in 2018, Oakwood now look forward to a trip to QPR on the 6th of October.

The team management would like to say a massive THANK YOU to all the players and supporters who travelled with the team. Special thanks to the club and the sponsors; C.A.V.E. & J K Munchbox.
