Match report from Injured player Amy Knock ! 'Woman of the match' Megan Gale

Manager & Coaches message today when discussing 'woman of the match' the name that come up multiple times was Megan Gale not only for her hat trick today but the constant chasing of the ball. Well done Megan great match. It was a great game and everyone worked hard throughout the match. There is also a special mention today for Ciara whom had her best performance to date!

Match report today is from Amy Knock whom was injured today and couldn't play so turned her hand to match reporting. Thank you Amy.

Today Oakwood started the first of their friendlies against Horsham Sparrows and it was a great performance. Oakwood took a while to get going but in the eighteenth minute the ball was in a scruff inside the box and Megan Gale chipped in her foot and lobbed it over the keeper to make it 1-0. Quickly after, Megan Verbeeten put in an amazing ball for Megan Gale to slot it in the back of the net. In the twenty-seventh minute, Ella crossed in the ball and once again Megan Gale was there to finish it, completing her hattrick. Almost immediately, Grace Lovell put in an amazing throw and Ciara muscled through however the keeper made a brilliant save. In the thirty-seventh minute Megan Verbeeten went on a great run and finished at the far post and at half time the score was 4-0.
Soon into the second half Megan Verbeeten had a great run and a powerful shot and the keeper spilled it into the net to make it 5. Then an hour into the game Megan Verbeeten put in a great ball and Ciara used great persistence to get through the defence and finished amazingly in the top corner. Darcie H ran through the midfield and defence with great strength and shot however the keeper saved but Ella was there to score the rebound. In the eighty-second minute Ella ran from the half-way line and shot from the edge of the box to finish it. Overall, it was an amazing performance from Oakwood to start the friendlies with an 8-0 win. Well done girls!
