A re-arranged fixture saw Oaks travel to Lindfield Juniors to take them on in a league match. A move from grass to astro, a much bigger pitch and a new signing - would these facts provide to be too much for Oaks?

Blessed again with the weather, a lack of fuel available and traffic near every petrol station didn't stop oaks getting to the ground early. We welcomed new signing Roman Williams into the squad and Roam Gilbert who came back from a weekend away. Before the game started we all sang happy birthday to our Rock at the back Adam Charikira and we all hoped that the performance would be a great way to start his birthday celebrations. Well the game started brightly and we went 1-0 up thanks to another great strike from harry Morley making it 2 in 2 for him. Then everything seems to fall apart. Great pressing and play from Lindfield saw our midfield not able to cope and we conceded 5 goals that were all a bit sloppy, but a couple of really good strikes to beat Kye in gaol. Just before half time Niko Joseph pulled one back. It was up to the manager to deliver a Liverpool v Milan speech to see if his troops would go into battle and turn things around. The big message was to increase the press, go together and who knows. The players went out and it was like a different side. Not letting Lindfield have any time on the ball, Skipper Daniel Ritchie and Adam at the back looked solid, Mason even had a little turn playing centre back and did really well. The rotation of players in different positions was excellent, Roman Williams on his debut got into the game more and more, creating chance after chance. But it was Harry Morley and Nameer Hussain who drove the team. It was those 2 players who pressed high, won the ball in the opponents half and created chances. Zyane, Niko and Mason all upped their game and pressed Lindfield high up the pitch. 10 crazy minutes saw Oaks get it back to 5-5 and we went on to win 6-5, Roman Gilbert picking up a hat trick. The 2nd half performance was out of this world.
