Oakwood overcame their toughest test of the season so far with an exceptional 3-2 over Perrywood

A full strength Oakwood side welcomed new signing Rhys into the match day squad for what was going to be a battle to be remembered for a long time, and what a game it was too. The game was played at a pace not seen at K2 for a number of years, Big Mac Zac in goal looked calm and his handling was class...great tackles by Jude and Daniel at the back, amazing work rate by Ollie and Bobby on the wings, Alf getting on the ball at every occasion and Roman being a pain up top and not letting their defenders have a moment to settle. Perrywood were playing a very direct game of football, getting the ball up top as quickly as they could but captain Daniel and his partner in crime at the back Jude were outstanding in winning every header and tackle and giving the Perrywood forward nothing to latch onto. Oakwood scored first, Bobby popping up with a long range strike that went in. Half time came and the boys were buzzing. Managers Joe and Toby were over the moon with the 1st half performance and just told the players to keep calm, keeping winning your personal battles and we would be fine. The second half start at a crazy pace, Adam came on from the bench and went up top and was a thorn in Perrywoods defence, strong and smart with his hold up play. Roman dropped back into left midfield and was outstanding, his passing, workrate and vision created a debt goal for Rhys who popped up to score the 3rd. Every single player was giving maximum effort and some of the football on show from both teams was for u9's just out of this world. More tackles from Jude and Bobby, headers won by Daniel and saves from Zac showed this game wasn't over. A change in personal saw a new forward up against the back 2 and our backs were up against it. Perrywood pulled one back, then a second goal was scored with just over 2 minutes left. HEROIC defender by everyone and some great game management made sure Oakwood ran out 3-2 winners to remain unbeaten. It was a brilliant team performance and all the supporters got to watch a quiet breathtaking game of football.
